Established in 1965 as Trivandrum Homoeopathic Medical College with a DHMS (Diploma in Homoeopathy) course, the name changed to Shree Vidyadhiraja Homoeopathic Medical College in 1978 after merging Trivandrum Homoeopathic Medical College Society with Shree Vidyadhiraja Vidya Samajam. Started a bachelor degree (BHMS), admitting 50 students per year in 2001, after getting affiliation from the Central Council of Homoeopathy and the University of Kerala. The Direct Payment System’ (DPS) was introduced by the Government of Kerala on September 1, 2002, thus becoming a government-aided college. Affiliation shifted to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Mulakunnathukavu, Thrissur, in 2009.
