Department of Practice of Medicine
The Medicine Department is the back bone of patient care in any hospital and has become an integral part of Shree Vidyadhiraja Homoeopathic Medical College. It is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
The department has been playing a crucial role in meeting the demands of patients effectively. The Department has OPD and IPD.
In the OPD and IPD session, the department s of Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine and Repertory come under the department of Practice of Medicine.
History taking, clinical examination proper diagnosis, effective treatment, regular follow-up and compliance of treatment with human touch sincerity and hard work are the clinical services provided in the Department.
UG teaching with audio visual aids and bedside clinics inculcate the basic elements of medicine and develop healthy doctor patient relationship.
EVALUTION METHODS
Perform complete histories and examination of patients in the inpatient and outpatient. Create thorough and accurate written medical records. Interpret laboratory, radiology and medical tests.
House surgeons are posted in the OPD ‘s and IPD’s and are put in regular duties and given training. They also attend camps. The Department comprises of a staff room and Museum and demonstration room. All the hospital facilities are made use of in this department. The Department abides by the rules and regulations of central council of Homoeopathy, Ayush and Kerala University of Health Sciences.
