PERIPHERAL OPDs

SVRHMC runs 6 Peripheral outpatient departments (OPDs) at old age homes and schools which play a crucial role in providing accessible and timely medical care to vulnerable populations.

At Old Age Homes: These peripheral OPDs focus on addressing the specific health needs of elderly residents, who often require regular medical attention due to chronic conditions and age-related ailments. The services typically include routine check-ups, management of chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, medication administration, and emergency care. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for seniors by ensuring that they receive consistent and personalized medical attention without needing to travel to distant healthcare facilities. These OPDs often collaborate with specialists and community health workers to provide comprehensive care, including physical therapy and mental health support.

At Schools: Peripheral OPDs in schools are designed to address the health needs of students within the educational environment. They provide services such as routine health screenings, immunizations, first aid for minor injuries, and management of chronic conditions like asthma or allergies. These OPDs also play a role in promoting health education and preventive measures among students. By offering immediate medical support and health guidance, they help minimize disruptions to students' learning and ensure a healthier school environment. Additionally, school OPDs often work closely with parents and school staff to address health-related concerns and manage any emerging health issues effectively.
