Hostel

The college has Ladies’ hostel ONLY. The Ladies’ hostel is located on the front side of the college The hostel provides a comfortable and conducive atmosphere to develop the innate abilities of inmates. The hostel has a floor area of around 6000 sq.ft and can accommodate 60 students and is under the control of the Vice-Principal who is the Warden. The mess is run by the College Canteen which is outsourced and is situated inside the campus.

NB: Special menu will be arranged for Vegetarians. The students have to inform the Canteen owner regarding the same on first day itself. Responsibility of students who are residing in the above hostel and availing mess facilities at canteen will only be taken by college Authorities.

HOSTEL RULES 

 

  • All Students must strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the hostel.
  • Shree Vidyadhiraja Homoeopathic Medical College has arranged hostel accommodation for I BHMS students in the address given below and food facility from College Canteen. “Sooryavamsam”, Building No. 309/2, Near Shree Vidyadhiraja Homoeopathic Medical College, Old Karakkamandapam, Nemom. P.O, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – 695020.
  • First year students must strictly avail hostel accommodation and Canteen mess under College directions.
  • Hostel committee including 2 Student representatives, Parent representative, Vice Principal, Senior Superintendent, Hostel Owner and Canteen owner will be formed and will meet 1 st week of every month to discuss all aspects regarding hostel and canteen. Also there will be a whatsapp group for inmates with their parents, Vice Principal, Hostel Owner and Canteen owner.
  • Fee Structure for hostel including mess is Rs.5,700/- per month. Additionally students have to pay Electricity & Water bill bi-monthly on divided basis. Fees have to be paid monthly at college office before 10 th of every month as advance pay. Delay in fee remittance after 10 th will be fined @ Rs.20/- per day till they remit the fees. Those who avail college Hostel and Canteen facility alone will be eligible for claim of Scholarship, educational loan under the heading of “College Hostel”.
  • Every student has to pay Rs. 3,500/- as security deposit at the time of admission. This amount will be refunded on vacating the hostel if no liability (fine/damage) is pending. The amount will not be refunded if the student leaves (except to own home) the hostel or canteen before 1 year.
  • Students while going out (including holidays) should strictly obey KUHS rules and enter the hostel before 9.30.P.M. Even though the time frame is 9.30 PM, the desirable time is 8.30PM. Extension beyond this time limit can be allowed only with prior permission from guardian in written/ through Whatsapp group.
  • Entries must be made in “Out pass register” strictly during each entry and exist.
  • Entries must be made in “Home pass register” while leaving for home and returning from home. Student has to inform in the whatsapp group once they reach home.
  • Visitors are strictly instructed to enter their details in the “Visitor’s register” maintained in the hostel
  • Students should keep their rooms (including bathroom) neat and clean. Also, they should not damage any properties of the hostel. In case of damage, fine will be charged as per the rate decided by the hostel owner.
  • All students are strictly warned not to keep any valuable items in the hostel. Authorities will not be responsible for such loss.
  • “Mess-cut” will be applicable only if the student is not availing the Mess facility for 5 consecutive days @ Rs. 50/- per day.
  • In order to avoid food wastage, students who avoids food on a particular day have to inform the Canteen owner at least 3 hours prior to it.
